...or really the eternal perspective; not just to see life as having a beginning before we are born and a continuation after we leave this life, but to know what that can be like and to live that life now.

You can say you want to be with someone forever. I hear it all the time in popular music, movies, books. But saying forever doesn't make it true. Most forevers don't last, even if we want them to. But what if you could know for sure that you could be with someone forever and exactly how to make that happen?

Forever means something specific and beautiful to me and to BH. We know what it is, why we want it, and how to get it. The temple ordinances are the gate that opens that pathway to eternity for us. In the Salt Lake Temple we were sealed for time and all eternity. We know what we have to do keep those covenants in effect. Knowing is the easy part, living a celestial marriage is challenging to say the least. But we can live each day as a one little piece in the our eternity together. And that's the difference. We don't just say it, we know it and we try our best to live it.

On our wedding day, we wanted to share how we felt about being sealed with all of our family and friends. A lot of them couldn't join us for the sealing in the temple, so we had what we called a "celebration". We shared readings and songs that expressed our love and shared our own words to tell each other and all of our families what we meant to each other. This is the song that we walked down the aisle together to, as husband and wife; one of the songs that I consider "our song":

FOREVER
by Ben Harper

Not talkin' 'bout a year
No not three or four
I don't want that kind of forever
In my life anymore
Forever always seems
to be around when it begins
but forever never seems
to be around when it ends
So give me your forever
Please your forever
Not a day less will do From you

People spend so much time
Every single day
Runnin' 'round all over town
Givin' their forever away
But no not me
I won't let my forever roam
and now I hope I can find
my forever a home
So give me your forever
Please your forever
Not a day less will do
From you

Like a handless clock with numbers
An infinite of time
No not the forever found
Only in the mind
Forever always seems
to be around when things begin
but forever never seems
to be around when things end
So give me your forever
Please your forever
Not a day less will do
From you
